LG, a South Korean smartphone company, and Samsung Electronics, a global conglomerate, have announced that they will release a new smart watch with Android Wear 2.0 on October 24, 2020.
The LG Watch Sport 2 will be the first smartwatch to come with Android Pay.
LG will also introduce a new Android Wear smartwatch on October 25, 2020, featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rear camera with an optical image stabilization sensor, a new dual-band WiFi network, and support for the Android Pay system.
The Samsung Watch Sport will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on October 26, 2020 and will be launched in the US, Europe, and Japan.
The new smart watches will feature a new design and functionality, with LG claiming that the new smart wearable will have a “bold and elegant look,” but also will “reinvigorate the wearable ecosystem with an innovative, cutting-edge design and technology.”
The new watch will be made by LG, with Samsung providing components, and will retail for $99.99.
Samsung is expected to release a “major new smartphone” in 2019.
